Fixzone Inc. ("FixZone," "we," "our") uses location services to match Clients with Providers in nearby areas and to enhance the safety, accuracy, and efficiency of the platform. This Location Services Disclosure explains how we collect, use, protect, and share location information. By using FixZone, you consent to these practices.


1. Types of Location Data We Collect

1.1 Approximate Location (Default)

Collected through:

  • IP address
  • WiFi networks
  • Cell tower triangulation

Accuracy: city, neighborhood, ZIP code, or general area.

Used to:

  • Display service areas
  • Match Clients with Providers
  • Show circular map areas (Facebook Marketplace style)
  • Recommend nearby jobs or services

Approximate location is the primary method used by FixZone.

1.2 Precise GPS Location (Optional — Only With Permission)

Collected only if the user grants device permission.

Used for:

  • Navigation for Providers
  • Distance calculation
  • Route optimization
  • Fraud prevention
  • Safety-related features

You may enable or disable precise location at any time.

1.3 Address Data (Clients Only)

Clients provide their service address manually. FixZone:

  • Stores the address securely
  • Never displays it publicly
  • Reveals it to Providers only after job acceptance

Before acceptance, Providers only see:

  • Neighborhood
  • Borough or city
  • ZIP code
  • An approximate circular area

2. How FixZone Uses Location Data

2.1 Match Clients with Providers

  • Show Providers in user’s area
  • Recommend Providers based on proximity
  • Determine service availability
  • Improve accuracy of job selection

2.2 Safety & Fraud Prevention

  • Verify job legitimacy
  • Detect fake or impossible locations
  • Prevent fraud/off-platform activity
  • Monitor distant logins for security

2.3 Navigation & Job Execution (Providers Only)

  • Navigation after job acceptance
  • Route optimization
  • Arrival time calculations
  • Potential proof-of-arrival features

2.4 Internal Analytics

  • Analyze demand by area
  • Optimize Provider distribution
  • Improve app performance
  • Understand geographic usage patterns

Analytics never contain identifiable home addresses.

3. What Location Information Is Shared With Other Users?

3.1 Before a Job Is Accepted

Providers see only:

  • Neighborhood
  • Borough or city
  • ZIP code
  • Circular shaded area

Clients see Provider:

  • Service area
  • Approximate distance
  • City / neighborhood

No one sees exact addresses before job acceptance.

3.2 After a Job Is Accepted

Providers receive:

  • Exact Client address
  • Access instructions (optional)
  • Job photos
  • GPS navigation details

Clients never receive Provider home addresses.

4. How You Control Location Permissions

4.1 On iOS

Options may include:

  • Allow Once
  • Allow While Using App
  • Allow Precise Location
  • Allow Approximate Location Only
  • Don’t Allow

FixZone works normally with approximate location.

4.2 On Android

  • Precise
  • Approximate
  • Deny

You may disable location at any time in device settings.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Encrypted at rest
  • Encrypted in transit
  • Secure server architecture
  • Strict access controls
  • Limited retention

FixZone does not store precise GPS logs unless needed for:

  • Fraud investigation
  • Safety or legal reasons
  • Dispute resolution

FixZone never sells location data.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

  • User consent

7. When Location Data May Be Disclosed

Location data may be shared with:

  • Providers (after job acceptance)
  • Law enforcement (legal requirements)

FixZone does NOT sell location data to advertisers.

8. Children’s Location Data

FixZone does not permit use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect location data from minors.

FixZone may retain location data for:

  • Active investigations
  • Ongoing disputes
  • Fraud cases
